iClassic

iClassic is on the Cydia Store!, more info on the release.

Overview

iClassic App

This is an app I have been working on, with graphics from @Christian Baroni, and an icon by Elias.

It’s a media player that has an interface like the well known iPod Classic. It’s not yet finished, but it’s close to be, and it will work just like the iPod, control the currently playing song, browse your music, and all with the Click Wheel. For more info about the app, check the “Screenshot”, “Features” and “More Info” tabs of this page.

Make sure to follow me and Christian on twitter to keep track of the app’s progress.

Also, make sure to share and enjoy!

More Info

Distribution

While I’d like this app to be on the AppStore, we know the chances of having the app accepted on it are very very slim, but if it doesn’t make it to the AppStore, it will be on the Cydia Store.

Name

The name is likely to be “iClassic” or something around that.

Can it browse the entire library?

Yes, the app can browse the entire music library just like the good ole iPods, but I’m still polishing that up, since it was just implemented (There’s an screenshot of this in the screenshots tab)

Beta Testing

While the app is still in beta, it’s now a private beta to avoid leaking of any kind. So we are not looking for any beta testers. It won’t be long before it hits the App/Cydia store though.

Price

When it’s released, either on the AppStore (though it’s unlikely to get approved) or on the Cydia Store, it will be 2 bucks (Please don’t steal from us, I think it’s very affordable, and we’ve put quite a lot of work into this)

Games

The app will not support games in it’s first release since it would delay it quite a bit. I will look into adding them later.

Videos

The first release won’t play videos either. It will be added if I find a way for videos to play on a certain area of the screen instead of full screen.

Release Date

If everything goes well, it will be soon. I won’t give a release date until I have a final version because I don’t want to have people disappointed and angry, and also I don’t want to rush a version that hasn’t been tested enough.
